It’s really about freedom and choices. No matter what retirement looks like to you, at Hunter Financial we can help build a plan and guide you along the way

When am I ready to start planning my retirement?

The right time to start planning your retirement depends on your situation, age and your goals. Much of the heavy lifting is done the through power of compounding,
so start early and let time work in your favour.

By planning ahead, you will be in a better position to achieve the
lifestyle you want to enjoy in retirement.

When can I access my super?

Even if you‘re ready to retire before 65, there are still conditions in the release of withdrawing money from your super fund:

• If you’re retiring from the workforce and do not intend to undertake 10 hours a week of part time employment.
• Turning 65 of which you have unrestricted access to your super.

There are some other ways to withdraw your super before 65. One example is ‘transition to retirement’ which allows you to withdraw from a pension account.
Other severe situations include permanent incapacity,
financial hardship, and terminal illness.

Keep in mind that accessing your super before retirement means you will need to pay more tax. If you want to use your superannuation before you turn 65, speak to us for advice on how and if it could be possible for you.
